Rafting.ie run a classic rafting trip takes you from Lucan to Palmerstown through the Strawberry Beds. The trip time is approximately 2.5 hours on the water covering 8kms. With the help of your guide, you will navigate four weirs and numerous rapids along the way. This is a half day activity where we ask you to arrive to our base at the Canoe Centre Palmerstown, 30 minutes prior to the start time, to allow you checked in and get changed into gear ready to be shuttled to the ‘get in’ point above Lucan village. The minimum age to participate in this trip is 12 years old. We can accommodate younger kids on our classic trip as non-paddling participants. We have 2, 4 and up to 7 person rafts available.

We ask you to arrive at our base approx. 30 minutes before your session start time, to allow you to get checked in and changed into gear before being shuttled to the get on point approx. 10 minutes’ drive away. Our trip takes you approx. 8km through the Strawberry Beds and back to our base in Palmerstown. With the help of our guide you will navigate over four weirs and numerous rapids while learning some intriguing history and experiencing an abundance of flora and fauna along the way!
We have a café on site and you can pre order pizzas before your trip and enjoy them our riverside dining area afterwards.
