The meeting point is the Town lake in Killeshandra, the best way of getting there is by car.
Transport may be arranged from Beturbet or Cavan which are the nearest public transport stops. Please get in touch if you require a lift!
Try Minnie’s for a cosy bar or the Loughbawn Hotel for some delicious food, both located on Main street Killeshandra.
Fika 33 cafe is a popular restaurant for coffee before you leave or something to fill the belly after a lovely morning on the water.
Meet at Town lake Killeshandra where you will meet your guide who will talk you through the plan for the day.
You will be give your kit for the day and shown how to use them properly while briefing you on how to safely navigate your way throughout the day.
Paddle out and find your sea-legs while honing in your newly acquired paddling skills.
Set off down the rivers on your way to lough oughter castle while keeping an eye out for wildlife on the banks and fish swimming beneath your feet.
You will arrive at the remote lough oughter where you paddling up to the island in the middle of the lake home to the famous castle.
Grab a snack wile hearing of the history of the castle and exploring its amazing ruins.
We head back to shore where transport will be ready to bring you back to our starting point.
