Claire O’Kane, founder of Mussenden Sea Salt & Honora Kane has a deep connection with the land and sea of the Causeway Coast & The Stunning Binevenagh landscape . Claire’s ancestral line dates back centuries, and the O’Kane’s were known to rule the lands around the Binevenagh and around the causeway coast as far back as the 16th century, playing a pivotal role in the history of Ulster.
Claire marries the sustainable with the luxury, to create memorable, immersive dining and wellness experiences in the rugged & rural haven of the Downhill and surrounding areas. Using the wealth of knowledge gained as a wellness practitioner of over 25 years, Claire marries her modern learning with the ancient myths & Legends, to guide others to reconnect with the land & Sea of this spellbindingly beautiful rural retreat. She has teamed up with another local lady, Heather Nicholl, founder of Ella Mor; her family are the current guardians of the land around the Binevenagh area. A Family with deep farming connections and ancestral lineage. Together they have created an array of dining and wellness experiences, collaborating to offer a shared understanding of the beauty of Binevenagh.
A Spirit which ignites your soul can be found on Binevenagh, Heather a fitness practitioner and wellness advocate, for over 15 years combines her specialised knowledge, with childhood memories, growing up at the foot of the Binevenagh Mountain, to create immersive outdoor experiences & events. With days spent exploring the hidden and magical spots throughout Binevenagh, Heather offers a specialised knowledge of recent history with visitors. Her guided walks are suitable for all abilities, not just the experienced, but the wanderer also.
Combined with the ancient history awakened through the modern interpretation of those ancient stories, as told by Claire make this a culturally rich, luxuriously authentic Northern Ireland experience.
