Kayaking is one of our most popular adventure activities and we have the perfect location for both first-timers and the more experienced paddlers. Enjoy moving freely through the water with amazing birds and wildlife swooping and ducking around you. Choose to splash around and play games or take a trip to the incredible Clough Oughter Castle, a 13th century tower that lies serenely amidst the islands. Enjoy a picnic at the Castle with just the wildlife for company, before paddling back to shore.
You will have your own single/double kayak or canoe and avail of guidance and instructions from our team before heading out on the water. We have a number of trails to choose from, however, our most popular trail is Clough Oughter Castle due to it’s easy access and distance.
You will need to wear old runners and clothing suitable for the activity. Bring a towel, change of runners and warm clothes for afterwards. We will provide you with a wetsuit and buoyancy aid.
Please note this is a two person activity. Solo kayakers are not permitted on the water.
Canoeing is one of our most popular adventure activities for young families who wish to explore with smaller children. Each Canoe can fit 2 adults and 3 small children ( see the pic ). We have the perfect location for both first-timers and the more experienced paddlers. Enjoy moving freely through the water with amazing birds and wildlife swooping and ducking around you.
You will be given your own canoe and instruction from our staff before heading out on the water. Our most popular trail is Clough Oughter Castle. Discover the historic 13th century Anglo Norman Castle that lies serenely amid the lakes, hidden in a maze of islands and waterways. Enjoy a picnic by the Castle with just the wildlife for company, before paddling your way back to shore.
You will need to bring a swimsuit, towel, old runners to wear in the water and warm clothes for afterwards. We will provide you with a wetsuit, helmet and buoyancy aid.
